We will begin a study unit on equivalent fractions during this week’s math classes. Please remind your child to learn their multiplication and division facts.
Students will work to improve their reading fluency during our reading classes throughout the week.
We will publish and present their revised scenes from Peter Pan during our writing classes this week.
This week the students will begin a study unit on force and motion in our science classes.
Additional Important Information
We’ll have student-led conferences in our classroom on Tuesday, March 20 from 7:30 to 8:30 AM. Students will share their work with their parents during this time. Please mark your calendars and make plans to come in for a few minutes so you can learn more about what your child is learning at school. Student-led conferences will end at 8:30 AM so we can begin our instructional day.
We have one more field trip this year. Our last trip will take place on Thursday, March 22. We’ll visit the Mordecai House and learn how people lived in Raleigh a long time ago. Please send a bagged lunch for this field trip. This trip will require a lot of walking so please remind your child to wear sneakers on Thursday, March 22. Please be sure that you have paid for both of our March field trips. The fee for this trip is $8.00 and the March 8 trip was $6.00 per student.
Please return the school pictures you don’t want by Friday and send in money to keep the pictures you want.
Please be sure to bring a valid picture ID for all school events. You will need to show this to go beyond the front office.
Please remind your child to bring in a white poster for a media project.
Track 4 students will track out on Friday, March 23 and track in on Thursday, April 19.
DRES will have a Spirit Night on May 3 at Snoopy’s on Spring Forest Road.
May 4 will be Movie Night at DRES.
Please remind your child to wear their DRES shirts on May 4.
We are scheduled to take our EOG tests on June 20 and 21.
