This week, we’ll continue a math study unit that focuses on solving two-step word problems using various addition and subtraction strategies such as equations, number lines, and expanded form.
Throughout this week’s reading and writing classes, we’ll continue to focus on reading and writing about the central message of our reading passages.
Students will study landforms during our science classes this week.
Additional Important Information
Friday, September 28 will become a full day instead of an Early Release Day.
Track 4 third graders participated in CogAT testing on September 11, 12, and 18. I will send these test results home as soon as I receive them.
Please fill it out and return your child’s field trip envelope that was sent home last week. This money can be paid online, in cash, or by check. You will receive a receipt shortly after you make a payment.
The itinerary for our Tuesday, September 25th field trip to Old Salem is in today’s folder. Please be sure to have your child bring two snacks and 2 bottles of water, one for the morning and another for the afternoon, along with a book to read and a pencil. These can be packed in a book bag. Please be aware that we will leave school at 7:00 AM and return to school at 6:00 PM on September 25. Please remind your child to wear a DRES or Apex Strong tee-shirt and sneakers on this field trip because we will be doing a lot of walking in groups.
Please read, complete, and return the conference letter in today’s folder.
Students will take a multiplication quiz on 0 through 10 facts every Friday.
Friday, September 28, will NOT be an Early Release Day. School will dismiss at 3:00 on this day. This will be our last day of school for the first quarter and our track out day.
